Yucaipa Valley Regional Water Filtration Facility

Butier Engineering, Inc. provided construction management and inspection services for the Water Filtration Facility project, which included the construction of 12 mgd microfiltration and 6 mgd nanofiltration membrane systems.

In general, the work included construction of the following: automatic strainers and free surface flow distribution structure; manual strainers; 12 MGD microfiltration membrane system; 6 MGD nanofiltration membrane system; blending structure; operations building including membrane room and pre-engineered steel frame system, basement, and operations and administrative rooms; chemical building and chemical storage and feed systems; dissolved air flotation backwash water treatment system; backwash equalization pump and DAF feed pump station; DAF effluent sump and pump station; CIP waste sump and pump station; sanitary waste pump station; site work and landscaping; electrical and instrumentation; and site utilities and drainage systems.

Butier's construction management services included the following: implementing district administrative procedures; detailed contract administrative procedures; pre-construction conferences; site coordination; CPM schedule and updating; progress payments; evaluations of time extensions; administering shop drawing and submittal approval process; clarification of plans and specifications; contract modifications and change orders; inspection and quality control; project meetings; contractor claims; monthly project report; management information systems (document control); coordination of O & M manuals receipt and start-up; determination of liquidated damages; necessary reporting documents; monitoring contractor performance; video documentation and photo documentation; coordination of close out; and final project report.
