West Basin Water Recycling Plant Phase III Design-Build Expansion

Butier Engineering, Inc. served as Program Manager for this $16.4 million design/build project, which involved the design and construction of additional reverse osmosis and microfiltration (RO/MF) facilities to provide high quality boiler feed water and appurtenant facilities to the Chevron refinery, located across from the subject plant in El Segundo.

The upgrades were constructed at the West Basin Water Recycling Plant. Key project challenges included maintaining service at the existing plant at all times, with the exception of carefully planned and timed shut downs and tie-ins. The new facilities include power redundancies in order to maintain uninterrupted flow of boiler feed water to Chevron.
