Monte Vista Interconnect Project

Butier Engineering, Inc. served as construction manager for the Monte Vista Interconnect Project. This project—divided into separate north and south segments—involved the construction of approximately 4.5 miles of water transmission main through the cities of Chino, Chino Hills, and Montclair to meet the growing demand for domestic water in several existing and developing communities.

In addition to pipe installation and appurtenant work, the project involved pavement removal, trenching, shoring, removal and replacement of existing utilities, backfill, compaction, pavement replacement, and connections to existing pipelines.

Multiple outside agencies were involved in the project as it traversed through unincorporated areas of San Bernardino County and others served by the Monte Vista Water District. The pipeline terminates on property designated for a future flow control facility to be owned and operated by the Monte Vista Water District.

The project was completed successfully without major contract problems or unnecessary impacts on residents, and met the City's expectations for quality.
