Newport Trunk Sewer and Force Mains, Bitter Point Pump Station to Coast Trunk Sewer

Butier Engineering, Inc. was selected by Orange County Sanitation District to provide construction management and inspection services for the Newport Trunk Sewer and Force Mains project, consisting of the construction of two sanitary sewer force mains and a sanitary sewer gravity main.

The scope of work includes the following:

  • Approximately 6,600 feet of 36-inch internal diameter sanitary sewer force main from the Bitter Point Pump Station to Plant No. 2
  • Approximately 2,040 feet of 36-inch internal diameter sanitary sewer force main parallel to the said force main from the eastern side of the Santa Ana River to Plant No. 2
  • Approximately 3,550 feet of 12-inch internal diameter sanitary gravity sewer from the Newport oil field to the existing Bitter Point Pump Station
  • A tunnel approximately 1,400 feet long crossing underneath Santa Ana River and a tunnel approximately 240 feet long inside Plant No. 2 to install a 96-inch steel casing
  • A junction structure and non-standard vortex manhole inside Plant No. 2
  • Approximately 6,500 lineal feet of fiber optic duct bank consisting of (2) 3-inch PVC conduits with one conduit to include a 7-tube fiber optic cable
