Butier Engineering, Inc. staff provided construction management services in a staff-augmentation capacity for various CIP programs at LAX.
Taxiway K Easterly Expansion, Phase I ($7.5 million) consisted of grading and excavation work with lime treatment, extension of the concrete taxiway, drainage facilities, constructing taxiway intersections, service road reconstruction, shoulder pavement, utility relocations, new electric duct bank, taxiway lighting system, pavement markings, service road striping and signage.
Airfield Signage and Lighting ($7.5 million) consisted of constructing a new lighting vault with emergency power; installation of underground conduit; construction of new sign bases; and replacement of existing signs, circuit tagging, and light fixture identification.
Tom Bradley International Terminal Seismic Upgrade and Remodel ($10 million) consisted of selective demolition of the arrivals floor and ceiling; the interstitial walls and ceiling; departure floor, walls, and ceiling; lower mezzanine floor and walls; upper mezzanine ceiling; and selective demolition at the lower and upper penthouses and roof. New construction consisted of the erection of new walls, floors, and ceiling; installation of a new elevator and four escalators; extending the lower mezzanine floor in the north, east, and south directions; installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment; and incidentals to be performed while keeping the lower level concessionaires open for business.
